Poetry brings people together.
We should know,
because that’s what it’s done for us.

In 2019, my dad and I found ourselves reconnecting after a long stretch of strain, and it was poetry writing (and baseball, but that’s for another blog :-), a relic from my childhood, that we were bonding over. We started a weekly challenge to hold ourselves accountable and called it “The Sunday Night Poetry Club.” One poem submitted by email to each other every Sunday.

We weren’t always 100% on time, and we missed a few weeks here and there, but all in all we did pretty well for a first round.

I made this website as a celebration of one year of writing. It’s a selection of work, ongoing, mostly mine (daddy-o is looking to publish so we can’t post his great ones here - you’ll have to wait for his book!). We’re looking forward to many more poems and years, and we’re happy we get to share these weekly verses with you now, too. Thank you for being here.
